The Las Vegas Tragedy

We need to pray earnestly for those recovering from wounds and those who have lost loved ones in that heart-breaking tragedy. Here is an alarming perspective. There are something less than 7 billion people on earth. If there were 7 billion and they live an average of 70 years, 100 million die every year and 273,972 die every day. According to the Bible more of them are unbelievers who end up in the Lake of Fire, (a horrible unpublicized everlasting tragedy) than those who are believers and go to Heaven. We ought to care about those tragedies too and concerned with where people are going more than how and when they die.

Matthew 7:13: Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I saw a picture of a man hovering over a lady who was on the ground, either dead or seriously wounded. It broke my heart. I sorrow and grieve over the loss of life, the tragic interruption of people*s endeavors, children that will be without a parent, and so on.

This event in Las Vegas is just one more item to be considered as part of a larger issue facing this country. It nauseates me to listen to current day SAGES trying to make sense out of the calamities we have witnessed over the last few years. Even one of the artists who performed on that tragic night attempted to present a plea to end the division that exists in this country. While all these explanations have their origin in well intentioned hearts, they all fail to grasp the root problem.

I have been reading the Prophet Jeremiah, who prophesied just prior to the final demise of the Southern Kingdom of Judah, before their destruction by the Babylonians. The parallels between Judah*s spiritual condition and America*s spiritual conditions are astounding. The Lord God sent messages via the prophet to the nation to REPENT and return to GOD, and He will pour out blessings upon them. But they would not listen nor repent. Thus, they bore the consequences of their evil deeds, God*s judgment!

We, in America have killed 58 million unborn babies, we glorify homosexuality, we fund and encourage transgenderism, over 50% of the population is living in states of sinful fornication, gambling is growing, pornography is a billion dollar business, and sexual promiscuity is advanced in most of Hollywood entertainment. Churches are closing, most TV preachers are advocating false gospels and the sheep are not being fed meat in most churches.

Please spare me the PSYCHO babble of solutions to the problems.

The problem is: THIS IS A SINFUL NATION and God is trying to get our attention. It is really simple. Someone told me that this is time to show the LOVE of Christ. We have shown the love of Christ in a self-indulging manner for decades, and look at the result. God has been presented as a de-fanged MAN UPSTAIRS who loves everybody and judges no one.

May I remind the readers of this epistle that the first word that came out the mouth of my Savior was REPENT (Matthew 4:17; Mark 1:15), What we need in this country now more than ever is hundreds of Jeremiahs to spread the word that God*s judgment is upon us, and unless the nation returns to the OLD paths, worse things will happen.

We MUST TURN from our wicked ways!
